ABOUT US

CHURCH HISTORY
Salem Missionary Baptist Church has a rich history that dates back to its founding in the 1873 and rebuilt in 1952. Our church has been an integral part of the Burgess community, spreading the message of hope and faith to all who seek it.
OUR MISSION
God calls us to be equipped for responsible Christian discipleship through worship, service, growth, evangelism, and fellowship.
Salem Missionary Baptist Church seeks to be a purpose-driven congregation where members shall,
-
Worship God freely as prescribed in the Holy Bible, the inspired Word of God, through proclamation, prayer and praise and worship.
-
Serve God gladly through an intergenerational ministry to our congregation, community, and region.
-
Grow in God intentionally, diligently studying the word of God, identifying, developing and using our spiritual gifts, and religiously educating our children so that the work of God's church will not be left undone in generations to come.
-
Go forward obediently, as we engage in evangelism, empowered by the Holy Spirit, winning souls for Christ, and being actively involved in outreach ministry to demonstrate God's love, power and plan of salvation.
-
Strengthen the bonds of fellowship through regular and faithful attendance at worship services and responsible stewardship through the faithful giving of tithes, time and talent.

OUR VISION
To be a beacon of light and hope in our community, reaching out to those in need and sharing the transformative power of the Gospel. We aspire to create a welcoming and inclusive space that seeks to glorify God and make disciples of Jesus Christ through our commitment to God, Worship, Word and Witness.
